 東京大学文学部考古学専修課程(1996年卒業)、東京大学大学院総合文化研究科超域文化科学専攻文化人類学コース修士課程(1999年修了)、博士課程(2005年単位修得退学、08年課程博士取得)、ペルー国立トルヒーヨ大学大学院(2005年修士号取得)、日本学術振興会特別研究員(2005〜08年)を経て、東京大学総合研究博物館特任研究員(2009年〜)、助教(2012年〜)。
 専門はアンデス考古学、文化人類学。南米ペルー共和国北部を主要なフィールドとする。クントゥル・ワシ遺跡(1996, 97, 98, 99, 2000, 01, 02年)、ワヌコ盆地の遺跡群(01, 02年)の調査補助員を経て、「ヘケテペケ川中流域考古学調査プロジェクト」を立案し、ペルー人研究者らとの協力のもと、プロジェクトリーダーとして実施中(2003, 04, 05, 09, 11年)。ラス・ワカスなど複数の神殿遺跡の調査に加え、GISによる景観分析、岩絵遺跡の発掘など、多面的なアプローチによりアンデス文明形成期の社会像を探求している。

Eisei Tsurumi
B.A.(1996, archaeology), M.A.(1999, cultural anthropology) and Ph.D.(2008, cultural anthropology), the University of Tokyo. M.A.(2005, arts and sciences), the National University of Trujillo. Research fellow of the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (2005-08). Project researcher (2009), assistant professor (2012), the University Museum, the University of Tokyo.
Tsurumi is a specialist in Andean archaeology and cultural anthropology, and has carried out research in Northern Peru, South America. After participating as a field assistant in archaeological projects at Kuntur Wasi (1996, 97, 98, 99, 2000, 01, 02) and in the Huanuco Basin (2001, 02), he now directs “the Tembladera Archaeo-logical Project, Middle Jequetepeque Valley” as project leader in cooperation with Peruvian archaeologists (2003, 04, 05, 09, 11). Based on the field data from Las Huacas and other ceremonial centers, and synthesizing various approaches such as the landscape analysis using GIS and excavations in petroglyph sites, Tsurumi investigates the nature of early societies in the central Andes.

Maestro en artes y ciencias (2005), Universidad Nacional de Trujillo (Perú). Investigador de la Sociedad Japonesa para la Promoción de la Ciencia (2005-08). Investigador de proyecto (2009), profesor asistente (2012) del Museo Universitario de la Universidad de Tokio.
El Doctor Tsurumi se especializa en Arqueología Andina y Antropología Cultural, ha realizado estudios principalmente en el norte del Perú. Después de participar como asistente de campo en proyectos arqueológicos en el sitio de Kuntur Wasi (1996, 97, 98, 99, 2000, 01, 02) y en la Cuenca de Huánuco (2001, 02), actualmente dirige el "Proyecto Arqueológico Tembladera, Valle Medio de Jequetepeque" como jefe del proyecto en cooperación con arqueólogos peruanos (2003, 04, 05, 09, 11). Apoyándose en los datos del sitio arqueológico Las Huacas y otros centros ceremoniales, y sintetizando varias aproximaciones como el análisis del paisaje utilizando GIS y excavaciones en los sitios con petroglifos, investiga la naturaleza de las sociedades tempranas de la Civilización Andina.
